Things to do at the Delaware beaches this weekend

Slam Dunk at the Beach - December 27th to December 29th at Cape Henlopen High School. The 2018 Slam Dunk to the Beach field is headlined by several schools that were listed in the MaxPreps Preseason High School Top 100 Boys Basketball Rankings. Paul VI (Fairfax, VA) led the way with a number 11 ranking. Two more Slam Dunk teams joined the top 30, with Roselle Catholic (Roselle, NJ) at number 25 and Gonzaga College (Washington, DC) right behind at number 28. The Patrick School rounds out the list as the 73rd ranked team in the nation. Several of the best high school prospects in the country will also be competing. Three of ESPN's top 100 players in the class of 2019 and two more of the ESPN60 list of 2020 graduates are coming to Slam Dunk to the Beach. This is a wonderful re-creation of a traditional Irish custom for convening for an intimate, joyous gathering. Dónall Ó Héalaí, will come to facilitate sharing of Irish songs, stories, and poetry in an enjoyable and meaningful way with you. This ancient tradition, that survived into the last century, especially in the West of Ireland, was the custom of holding nightly gatherings in a neighbor's home, known as Oíche Airneáin, (a night of song and stories).
